Keep it small.

Keep it simple
Keep it small
Make it that
Or not at all

This poem clearly states that if you don't make or keep it small and simple. Then don't make or keep it at all.
"It" of course is your business. The poem is a bit dramatic but it's got the right idea. If you were to do a test, and lets say that you had a fat guy and a skinny guy in a room. You started throwing balls at them. Who's gun'a get hit more and worse. The fat guy. The big guy. The not so small and simple guy... Why? Because the skinny, simple, and small guy is able to maneuver around the blows. Unlike the fat guy. Now look at the guys as businesses.
The bigger the business the bigger the blow. Now there are many variables to this equation, but to narrow it down. You want to be flexible. You want to be small/simple. Now let's go over what I mean by small. Not popularity wise, or sales wise, but the business it's self. The amount of workers that you depend on should be small. Sure you want to make jobs, but not ones that can become blows if you lose them. Let your company breath. Give it room, and if your company is just growing. Let it grow! Just make sure that it's muscle and bone NOT fat.
Strengthen not weaken, grow not expand, and be flexible. Let's try clearing up that poem:

Keep it simple
Keep it small
Make it that
Or not at all
Make it strong
Make it tall
Make it better
Just don't fall
